Purchasing a Saddle
At The Saddlefitter, we know that the purchase of a saddle is a big decision and getting it right is crucial to the comfort and performance of horse and rider.
We are committed to giving you the time and expertise to make the best possible choice.

The pre-purchase service at The Saddlefitter will include:

making an accurate and detailed measurement of your horse's back

evaluating the movement of your horse

evaluating the rider's shape and size
-
making a short list of possible options
-
the rider test riding the short list and making a choice
-
fitting the chosen saddle to the horse or deciding on any custom modifications that need to be made by the manufacturer

Saddle Fitting
Horses, riders and saddles all change in shape as they mature and age and the Saddlefitter provides ongoing saddle fitting services to ensure that horse and rider can keep performing in comfort. We suggest that saddles are re-fittted, about 3 months after purchase and at least once a year or when there has been any dramatic changes in your horse's condition or performance.
For the brands we sell, we source the manufacturers preferred flocking to ensure your quality saddle is maintained to its best.
Please note:
Because Kathryn is highly in demand for her saddle fitting expertise, priority for fitting consultations are given to clients who have directly purchased their saddle from The Saddlefitter and are requiring a refit. Therefore, currently only fits are available for those riders requiring a refit or for riders wishing to purchase a new saddle from The Saddlefitter.
